ME Graduate Student Receives a Prestigious Fellowship to Pursue Ph.D. program in the US

MEC graduate student Mr. Anh Nguyen has received the prestigious Walter P. Murphy Fellowship from the Northwestern University in the US to pursue his Ph.D. degree. Mr. Nguyen entered SUNY-Korea’s Mechanical Engineering program in 2016 as a recipient of a Shared Prosperity Scholarship. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He continued his Master’s degree at SUNY Korea MEC department under the guidance of  Prof. Y. Eugene Pak. 

Ranked 29 in the 2021 QS World Universities Rankings, Northwestern has one of the best programs in Computational Solid Mechanics, which Mr. Nguyen plans to pursue. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern is ranked among the top six worldwide in mechanical engineering by the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and top five nationwide in the most recent ratings by the National Research Council (in 2010). Mr. Nguyen will start his Ph.D. program in Fall 2021.
