Oct. 23, 2019 - The Mechanical Engineering Seminar "Technology Needs a Secret Key" was held on Oct. 23 at SUNY Korea. The invited speaker was Dr. Yong Shik Kim, an alumni of Stony Brook University and former CEO of
SEMES (a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics), who currently works at the Samsung Display Company Mechatronics Center as an Executive Adviser.
Dr. Kim introduced changes in technology trends and "secret keys in the semiconductor and display industry,"' showing a video to illustrate the shift in market trends from the oil industry to the data sector. He also spoke about SEMES, a company that produces core equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing processes, which is one of only a few Korean companies competitive in the global semiconductor market.
